Welcome!

Artist spotlight: Tina Rawson. The sun is on me today and it appears that I have some extra time (ugh, trains!) so I thought that I'd post a little about myself as if I were a gallery owner.

Tina Rawson studied art in college at the University of Pittsburgh and as part of the humanties-esthetic line at Katedralskolan in Lund, Sweden. While living in Europe she lived in Paris for a year, London for a summer and traveled extensively.

Tina settled on the North Shore of Boston after a career in marketing to raise her family. She began painting art seriously twenty years ago with the arrival of her first born, and has taken many classes and courses. Rawson studied at Mass College of Art; and with Amira Rahim, Lully Schwartz, Alan Bull and more. She is often seen painting outside with the Band of Brushes plein-air group and in her beloved Little Compton, RI.

Tina Rawson's colorful contemporary art work can be found at The Coastal Living Gallery in Little Compton, The Art Cafe in Little Compton and in homes of collectors across the country. She has a studio at 14 Cedar Street in Amesbury; her home is in Newburyport.

She has been part of many group shows, a museum show at the Wenham Museum, and numerous solo shows in New England. Her work has been featured in Juniper Rag, Clover & Bee, Bifarin and on Salisbury cable TV. She is also a member of the Newburyport Art Association, Greater Haverhill Arts Association, The Art Queens, and is the proud founder of W.A.I.T and Art Lovers on Facebook.

Tina is a teacher and mother of two. She owns Start 2 Art where she provides art lessons, parties and Swedish Folk Art classes. She worked in education as a Montessori and Reggio-Emilia teacher.

Retreats, a podcast with GHAA, Open Studios #aos22 and a solo show entitled "Creative Connections:Contemporary Art by Tina Rawson" at the Hills Gallery at Newburyport Art Association (11/23 - 12/2) are coming up later this month.

Please sign up for the newsletter on her website at tinarawsonart.com to be informed on new launches, events, classes and more.
